Donna Vivian (Watkins) Davis

Donna Vivian Davis died Jan. 20, 2014, following a

long illness. She was 77.

Mrs. Davis was born in Grafton, W. Va. to Oddford and Mabel Watkins. She was raised in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School. In 1955 she moved to the Washington DC area where she became a Congressional secretary.

She married the love of her life, John “Jack” Davis on Feb. 18, 1956 in Tacoma Park, Md. He preceded her in death Aug. 28, 2001.

They moved to Rockville, Md. and Mrs. Davis became a homemaker, raising their four children. She was active in the local bowling league and played clarinet in the Rockville Civic Center Band.

The family moved to Lake Oswego in 1975. She was active in Welcome Wagon and her children’s school and sport activities. Mrs. Davis later returned to work as an administrative assistant for EBI Companies and Forest City Trading Group. She retired in 2004. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Clare’s Catholic Church in Portland.

After retirement Mrs. Davis had the opportunity to travel visiting new places and family until her health declined in 2012. She moved to Tigard’s Woodland Heights Assisted Living in 2013 and enjoyed the many activities they offered.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her brother and sister-in-law,

George and Carol Watkins, and sister Karen Jeffords, all of

Grafton, W. Va.; her children and their spouses, Ellen and John Rensklev of Tigard, Ann and Roger Davis-Ramsey of Sunriver, Ore., Darlene and Paul Patterson of Seattle, Wash., Patrick and Vicki Davis of La Center, Wash; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at St. Clare’s Catholic Church, 8535 SW 19th Ave., Portland.
