Kenneth Alan Edens
July 23, 1953 to Dec. 9, 2013
Kenneth Alan Edens was born in Portland, Ore. to Wilbur and Carol Edens. He grew up in
Parkrose, the oldest of four boys. He entered the military in 1972 and served in Korea. He worked as a journeyman in the Portland Shipyards through 1987.
Ken married Becky McGrew in 1977 and adopted his first child, Tiffany. After a brief second marriage, Ken found Marcia Wingard; they married in 1988. Ken often said the third time was the charm!
Ken and Marcia transferred to southern California; Ryan was born in 1990 and Joshua followed in 1992. After a move to Florida, the Edens settled in West Linn and Ken took a job as sales manager for Alliant Systems (HVAC).
Ken and Marcia most recently attended Willamette Christian Church; Ken was very active in many ministries, including working with many kids at the Oregon Youth Authority.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Edens; children Tiffany Edens, Ryan Edens and Joshua Edens; parents Wilbur and Carol Edens; his three brothers Wesley, William and Jeffrey; and one grandchild, Kenji White-Hopkins, in addition to numerous extended family
Ken was a very special man. He had room in his heart to love so many, and was loved by many in return. His mantra, today is the new best day of my life, reflected Kens belief that every day was a gift. He wanted others to know they were loved not only by him but that they were loved by God.
On Dec. 9, Ken passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. at Willamette Christian Church, 3153 Brandywine Drive, West Linn, Ore.
