A lefty, Martin has excelled as a pitcher in high school. Through last weeks games with Liberty he had 51 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched. Pictured with Alex Martin are his parents Rory Martin (left), mother Terri, and high school coach Chad McGowan (far right). Martin, who also had offers from Chemeketa, Lane and Linn-Benton community colleges, says he chose Western Oregon because he likes the schools baseball field, pitchers mound, the players, coaching staff, and the campus.
