'The Bachelor' And then there were three

BUSHNELLIt’s down to three women on “The Bachelor,” and it’s looking really promising for West Linn’s Lauren Bushnell, aka Lauren B on the hit ABC dating show, to land her love interest Ben Higgins.

It’s not Earth-shattering stuff here, folks, but it is when hearts collide on national television. Higgins dated the four remaining contestants individually in Monday’s eighth show, visiting each of their hometowns.

So Higgins visited Portland, and it remained apparent that he and Lauren B are getting along very well.

Online dating show aficionados continued to go gaga over the prospects of Ben and Lauren B and eternal love.

In Portland, the two walked around and ate at food carts and Voodoo Doughnut, and then visited a whiskey bar. They later visited Lauren B’s family, and Ben won over her family members. And Lauren B continued to tell everybody in America — via camera shots, but not the man himself — that she loves the bachelor.

Bushnell, 26 and a 2008 West Linn High grad, attended Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash., and works as a flight attendant. She told the Pamplin Media Group in January her experience with Higgins on “The Bachelor” had been lots of fun.

“He’s so down to earth and real,” she said.

Meanwhile, back on Monday’s show, Higgins dated the other three women — Amanda in Laguna Beach, Calif.; Caila in Hudson, Ohio; JoJo in Dallas, Texas — and, in the end, despite drama elsewhere, he said goodbye to Amanda, a mother of two who admitted that she was “definitely falling in love with him.”

Alas, there were three — Lauren B, Caila, JoJo — and Higgins will decide which two women get to stick around in the next airing of “The Bachelor,” 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29. Does Lauren B make the cut?

The finale will air March 14.
