BOZEMAN, Mont. — Second-ranked Montana State rolled to a 59-10 halftime lead and crushed Portland State 65-30 on Saturday.

The Vikings fell to 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the Big Sky, with one game remaining. They will play host to Eastern Washington at 1 p.m. next Saturday at Jeld-Wen Field.

Montana State improved to 9-1, 6-1.

PSU outscored the Bobcats 20-6 in the second half, and backup quarterback Collin Ramirez led the Viks to four scores with the outcome not in doubt.

The temperature was 10 degrees at kickoff, with a wind chill of minus 2.

MSU capitalized on two early turnovers to build a 17-7 lead, and things caved in on the Vikings shortly after that.
