Friday, Dec. 7

Winterhawks: Tri-City stops by the Rose Garden at 7 p.m. to play Portland. The Hawks are 3-0-0-0 since the Western Hockey League levied various penalties on the club for player benefit violations.

College women’s basketball: Portland State (5-1) is home against Gonzaga (7-2), 7:30 p.m.; Portland (1-7) plays host to Nevada (3-3), 7 p.m.

College volleyball: Sixth-ranked Oregon (27-4) plays No. 16 BYU (28-3) in the third round of the NCAA tournament. The game is 2 p.m. at Omaha, Neb., and the winner will face fifth-ranked Washington (25-6) or No. 10 Nebraska (25-6) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday (ESPN2), also in Omaha. The Ducks swept visiting Northern Colorado and Dayton last weekend.

Prep boys basketball: Games include North Salem at Central Catholic, Lake Oswego at Lincoln, David Douglas at Westview, Jesuit at Milwaukie, Wilson at Canby, Putnam at Cleveland, Hudson’s Bay at Benson, North Marion at Roosevelt, Franklin vs. Lakeridge (at Sandy tournament), and a doubleheader in the Eddie Barnett Tournament at Grant, with Southridge vs. Jefferson and De La Salle North Catholic vs. Grant.

Prep girls basketball: Lincoln at Tigard, Grant at Barlow, Milwaukie at Jesuit, Benson at David Douglas, Sprague at Jefferson, West Linn at Wilson, Reynolds at Madison, Hillsboro at Franklin, Cleveland at Hood River Valley, Parkrose at The Dalles-Wahtonka, Roosevelt at North Marion, South Medford at St. Mary’s Academy in the Blues’ four-team, two-day tournament.

Prep swimming: The PIL Intro meet, featuring teams from Wilson, Cleveland, Madison and Franklin, starts at 6 p.m. at Dishman Pool.

Prep wrestling: Cleveland and David Douglas are among the teams at the two-day Coast Classic at North Bend.

Saturday, Dec. 8

Blazers: Sacramento gives Portland a winnable game at the Rose Garden, 7 p.m. (KGW). The Blazers, back from a seven-game trip, won 103-86 at Sacramento on Nov. 13.

Winterhawks: Portland is at Seattle, 7 p.m. The Hawks have won the last four meetings by a combined score of 25-7.

College men’s basketball: Oregon State is host to Grambling State, 1 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks), and Oregon welcomes Idaho State to Matthew Knight Arena, 3 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks).

Prep football: Defending champion Lake Oswego (13-0) meets Sheldon (13-0) for the Class 6A championship for the second year in a row. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. at Jeld-Wen Field (CSN). LO is averaging 37.8 points per game and allowing 10.4. Sheldon has averaged 45.0 points and given up 12.9.

Prep boys basketball: Grant plays De La Salle at 6 p.m., and Jefferson meets Southridge at 8 p.m., in the Eddie Barnett tournament at Grant. Franklin has a game TBD in the Sandy tournament.

Prep girls basketball: St. Mary’s concludes play in its tournament.

Sunday, Dec. 9

Winterhawks: Portland concludes a three-game weekend with a 5 p.m. match at Tri-City. The Hawks lead the series 2-0, with wins of 4-2 and 6-0.

College women’s basketball: Oregon plays Nevada, 2 p.m., at Matt Knight; OSU takes on Saint Martin’s, 2 p.m., at Gill Coliseum.

Monday, Dec. 10

Blazers: Former Jefferson High standout Terrence Ross and the Toronto Raptors visit the Rose Garden, 7 p.m. (CSN). Through Tuesday, Ross was averaging 6.1 points in 15.6 minutes per game. The 6-6 rookie guard was shooting .423 from the field and .302 on 3-pointers.

Prep boys basketball: La Salle plays at Stayton.

Prep girls basketball: Lake Oswego is at Cleveland, and Madison is at Sandy.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

Prep boys basketball: Lincoln at David Douglas, Central Catholic at Benson, Jefferson at Jesuit, South Eugene at Grant, Franklin at Gresham, Liberty at Cleveland, Milwaukie at Madison, Wilson at Parkrose, Scappoose at Roosevelt, Central at La Salle.

Prep girls basketball: South Eugene at Grant, Dallas at Lincoln, Hillsboro at Wilson, Lakeridge at Jefferson, Franklin at Gresham, Benson at Reynolds, David Douglas at McKay, Roosevelt at Scappoose, Parkrose at Evergreen, La Salle at Central.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

College men’s basketball: Oregon State makes its first appearance at Stott Center for a 7:30 p.m. game (CSN) against Portland State. The Beavers are 12-0 all-time over the Vikings, including a 101-68 win in Corvallis last year. The teams have met only three times in Portland (at the Rose Garden in the 2001-02 season and at Memorial Coliseum in

1967-77 and 1980-81). PSU (1-4) won’t have played since Dec. 1, when it lost 66-56 at Loyola Marymount.

n Lewis & Clark visits Warner Pacific (ranked 13th in NAIA Division I), 7 p.m. Stephen Harris, a 6-5 senior forward from Hillsboro High, leads the 8-3 Knights in points (17.5), rebounds (11.1) and assists (3.5). WPC is coming off a 61-59 road loss to second-ranked Eastern Oregon.

Prep girls basketball: Jesuit at St. Mary’s Academy, Forest Grove at Grant.
