Winterhawks' Peters signs with NHL Stars
Another Portland Winterhawks player has signed with an NHL team.
Center Taylor Peters has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Dallas Stars. He will stay with the Hawks through the end of their current season.
Peters has played in 313 games for Portland; he is tied for fourth in that category on the club's all-time list. He has a career-high 13 goals this season, plus 24 assists, giving him 37, one off his season total for 2011-12.
Last season, Peters was named the team's Best Defensive Player and shared the club's Scholastic Player of the Year Award.
He was a fourth-round pick in the 2007 Western Hockey League bantam draft, the 68th overall pick.
