MAIN EVENT: In Point Lookout, Mo., Warner Pacific's men's basketball team opens play in the NAIA Division II tournament.

The Knights (27-6), seeded fifth and coming off a first-place showing in the Cascade Collegiate Conference tourney, meet unseeded Dakota State (22-9) at 7:15 p.m. PT.

With a win, Warner Pacific would play a second-round game at 7:15 p.m. PT Friday.

The quarterfinals are Saturday, the semifinals are Monday and the finals are Tuesday.

Other men's basketball: Oregon plays at Colorado, 6 p.m. PT (ESPN2). … Oregon State is at Utah, 6 p.m. PT (ESPNU). … Portland State, 8-18 and eliminated from postseason play, visits Weber State, 6 p.m. PT. … The West Coast Conference tournament moves into its second day. Portland, which was seeded eighth out of nine teams, needed to beat No. 9 Loyola Marymount on Wednesday night to earn a game at 6 p.m. today versus No. 5 San Francisco. Friday's winners advance to the quarterfinals.

Women's basketball: PSU (11-16, 5-13) plays host to Weber State, 7:30 p.m. The Vikings have been eliminated from Big Sky tournament consideration. … The Pac-12 tournament starts a four-day run in Seattle (Pac-12 Networks/ESPN2). Oregon State is seeded 10th; Oregon is 12th. The Beavers (4-14 in league during the regular season) play No. 7 USC at noon. The winner meets No. 2 Cal at noon Friday. The Ducks (2-16) open at 8:30 p.m. today versus No. 5 Washington. With an upset, Oregon would face No. 4 Colorado at 8:30 p.m. Friday. … The WCC tourney enters its second day at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Portland, the No. 7 seed, takes on No. 6 Santa Clara at 2:30 p.m. A win would put UP in Friday's quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m. against third seed Saint Mary's.

Friday, March 8

MAIN EVENT: The Trail Blazers take on the Spurs in San Antonio, 5:30 p.m. PT (CSN). San Antonio guard Tony Parker is out with a sprained ankle. The teams are 1-1 against each other going into this final meeting.

Baseball: All three of the state's D-I teams are at home this weekend. Portland (3-10) opens a series with Seattle (3-10) with a 2 p.m. game at Joe Etzel Field today, while Oregon (9-3 and ranked as high as No. 11) plays host to Vanderbilt (13-1, consensus No. 2 behind North Carolina) at 6 p.m. at PK Park, and Oregon State (12-0, No. 3 best national ranking) welcomes Texas State (5-7) to Goss Stadium for a 5:30 p.m. game.

Softball: The D-I schools continue to play out of town, waiting for better weather in Oregon. Portland State (5-15) has six games in tap this weekend in Honolulu. Oregon, 19-3 and ranked as high as No. 8, plays four times in two days at a tournament in Fresno, Calif. OSU (17-4, 23rd in one poll) also is in Fresno and has four games scheduled through Sunday. … In the Cascade Collegiate Conference, 14-5 Concordia is at Delta Park for a 2 p.m. doubleheader with Northwest Christian.

Track and field: Oregon is ranked fourth among women's teams and fifth in the men's field going into the NCAA indoor championships today and Saturday at Fayetteville, Ark. Former Jefferson High athlete Boru Guyota, a junior, is ranked fifth in the men's 800 meters.

Saturday, March 9

MAIN EVENTS: The Portland Timbers' second of 34 MLS regular-season games is at Jeld-Wen Field. Portland meets the Montreal Impact at 7:30 p.m. (KPTV, 12). Montreal helped Portland in the Western Conference standings by beating host Seattle 1-0 last week.

 The OSAA Class 6A and 5A boys and girls tournaments conclude at the Rose Garden (6A) and Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene (5A).

Men's basketball: Oregon's Pac-12 men's basketball regular season ends with a game at Utah, 11:30 a.m. (Pac-12 Networks). ... Oregon State also wraps up the regular season, visiting Colorado, 1:30 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks). ...

PSU's final regular-season men's game is 6 p.m. PT at Idaho State.

Women's basketball: The PSU women play their season finale at Stott Center against Idaho State, 2 p.m.

Baseball: Seattle is at Portland, 1 p.m. … Vanderbilt is at Oregon, 2 p.m. … Texas State is at OSU, 2 p.m. … Concordia is at home this weekend, playing doubleheaders against Cascade Collegiate Conference rival Oregon Tech at 2 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Sunday.

Softball: Lewis & Clark is 10-6 overall and tied for second in the Northwest Conference at 5-3 going into a noon doubleheader at George Fox (8-6, 5-3). The teams also will play a noon twinbill in Newberg on Sunday. … Concordia and Corban play twice at Delta Park, starting at 11 a.m.

Lacrosse: The high school boys season gets under way, with Lincoln, state champion the past three seasons, facing Lakeridge at 1 p.m. at Lake Oswego. The host Lakers play Sunset at 4 p.m.

Sunday, March 10

MAIN EVENT: The Blazers and New Orleans Hornets tip off at 4 p.m. PT (CSN).

Winterhawks: Portland plays at Victoria, 5 p.m.

Baseball: Series finales are at UP (1 p.m. vs. Seattle), UO (noon vs. Vandy) and OSU (1 p.m. vs. Texas State).

Monday, March 11

MAIN EVENTS: High school spring sports action begins. Among the first day's activities: Defending 5A baseball champion Wilson plays at the Lake Oswego Jamboree, 5 p.m. ... MAIN EVENT: The Winterhawks play at Victoria for the second time in three days. This one faces off at 7 p.m. Portland has three more regular-season games before the Western Hockey League playoffs start with games at the Rose Garden on Feb. 22 and 23.

Baseball: UP is on the road to face Seattle, 4 p.m. … Oregon wraps up a two-game home series with Texas State, 6 p.m. … Oregon State ends a two-game series with USF, 5:30 p.m.
