MAIN EVENT: The New York Knicks bring one of the best records in the NBA Eastern Conference (38-24, third) to the Rose Garden for a 7:30 p.m. game (TNT) with the Trail Blazers. The Knicks will be playing the second of a back-to-back that had them suffer a 117-94 loss at Denver on Wednesday.

Point guard Raymond Felton, the ex-Blazer, is shooting .412 from the field and .344 on 3-pointers and ranks third in NY scoring with 14.7 points per game, with a team-high 5.8 assists vs. 2.5 turnovers. Portland rookie Damian Lillard is shooting .430 and .358, with 19.0 points, 6.4 assists and 2.9 turnovers per game.

Basketball: Oregon's first game in the Pac-12 men's basketball tournament is at 8:30 p.m. (ESPNU), in the quarterfinals. UO (23-8) will play Washington (18-14), which held on to edge Washington State 64-62 on Wednesday.

The tourney continues Friday and Saturday, with all games at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The title game is 5 p.m. Saturday (ESPN).

Softball: Oregon State (20-4, 23rd and 26th in the national polls) takes a six-game winning streak into a noon doubleheader at home against New Mexico (13-14).

Preps: Central Catholic's baseball team visits Westview High at 4:30 p.m.

Friday, March 15

MAIN EVENT: Seattle Thunderbirds at Portland Winterhawks, 7 p.m., Rose Garden (ROOT). It's the annual Mascot Night. The Hawks lead the series 8-2-0-0 going into the next-to-last meeting of the regular season. The teams could meet in the first round of the Western Hockey League playoffs, although Seattle would have to slip from No. 7 (57 points, two games to go) to No. 8 (Everett, 54 points, three games left). A win Friday by Portland could help drop the T-Birds into a 1 vs. 8 seed match-up.

Baseball: Pac-12 play begins with Oregon (12-5) at Southern California (8-8), 6 p.m., and Oregon State (16-1) at Arizona (15-5), 6 p.m. PT. The Ducks were ranked 12th, 14th and 16th (twice) in the four major polls after going 1-2 last weekend at home against No. 2 Vanderbilt. The Beavers were ranked fourth (twice), third and second, but suffered their first loss in 16 games this season Tuesday, falling 5-1 at home to San Francisco. Arizona's rankings are 20th (twice), 21st and 24th. … The Portland Pilots (4-12) have their final non-league series at home against Cal Riverside (9-7). First pitch is 3 p.m. at Joe Etzel Field. … Concordia (3-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference) is at the University of British Columbia (2-2) for four games in three days. The opener is 2 p.m. today.

Softball: Concordia is away this weekend for Cascade Collegiate Conference play. The Cavaliers (3-1 CCC) take on Oregon Tech (4-0) twice today, starting at 4 p.m.

Tennis: The Oregon Ducks, 12-1 ranked No. 33, are in Houston for matches today against No. 53 Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Saturday vs. Rice. Junior Alex Rovello, a former four-time Class 5A champion from Cleveland High, leads the Ducks with records of 12-1 in singles and 12-0 in doubles.

Preps: The Class 6A softball lineup includes Lincoln-Central Catholic at Erv Lind Stadium, 4:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 16

MAIN HOME EVENT: The Detroit Pistons, with former South Medford High star Kyle Singler, take on the Blazers at 7 p.m. (CSNNW) at the Rose Garden. Singler, a rookie, was averaging 28.1 minutes, 8.9 points and 3.9 rebounds, shooting .432 from the field and .365 on 3-pointers through Wednesday. The Pistons (23-44) are headed for the NBA draft lottery.

MAIN AWAY EVENT: The Portland Timbers meet the Seattle Sounders for the first of three regular-season meetings (two in Seattle). Kickoff is 5 p.m. at CenturyLink Field (NBC Sports).

Winterhawks: Portland and Seattle wrap up their season series with a 7 p.m. game at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash.

Baseball: The Ducks play at USC, 2 p.m., and the Beavers are at Arizona, 6 p.m. … Portland plays host to Cal Riverside at 1 p.m. … In the Northwest Conference, Lewis & Clark has a noon doubleheader at home against Pacific. … Games two and three of the Concordia-British Columbia series in Vancouver are set for noon and 3 p.m.

Softball: Portland State (6-17) has one more away tournament before playing its home opener March 22. The Vikings complete Saturday and Sunday in the Springhill Suites Invitational hosted by Boise State. PSU meets Utah State at 11 a.m. today and the Broncos at 3 p.m. .. Lewis & Clark visits Linfield for two games, beginning at noon. … Concordia plays an 11 a.m. twinbill at Southern Oregon. Both teams were 3-1 in their conference going into the week.

Track and field: The annual Oregon Preview starts at 12:30 p.m. at Hayward Field.

Sunday, March 17

MAIN EVENT: The Winterhawks are at the Rose Garden for the WHL regular-season finale. The puck drops at 5 p.m., as Portland takes on the Spokane Chiefs. The Hawks will hand out their team awards for the 2012-13 season before the game.

Baseball: Oregon completes its three-game series at USC; Oregon State wraps up its series at Arizona. Both games start at noon. … UP and Cal Riverside finish their three-game set with a noon game at Joe Etzel Field. .. Lewis & Clark concludes a three-game NWC series at home against Pacific with a game at noon. … Concordia ends its four-game road trip at British Columbia, playing the Thunderbirds at 11 a.m.

Softball: Portland State's two-day stint at a tourney in Boise ends with games at 9 a.m. vs. Utah State and 1 p.m. against Boise State. … Willamette is at L&C for a noon doubleheader.

Monday, March 18

MAIN EVENT: The Blazers' first of five road games in seven nights is at Philadelphia. Tip-off is 4 p.m. PT (CSNNW). The 76ers have faltered this season; they were 24-40 through Wednesday and all but out of playoff contention.

Preps: In Class 6A baseball, Lincoln meets Central Catholic at Concordia, 4:30 p.m. … The PIL 5A baseball season begins with Benson vs. Cleveland at Marshall, and Franklin at Roosevelt, both 4:30 p.m. … In softball, Cleveland and Roosevelt kick off the PIL 5A schedule with a 4:15 p.m. game at Delta Park, while Lincoln takes on Wilson in a 4 p.m. nonleague game at Rieke Elementary School.

Tuesday, March 19

MAIN EVENT: The Blazers hit the hardwood at Milwaukee, 5 p.m. PT (CSNNW), facing a Bucks team (32-31) that looks destined to finish no worse than eighth in the Eastern Conference.

Baseball: Concordia has a 3 p.m. date at George Fox.

Softball: In the Cascade Collegiate Conference, Concordia plays host to Northwest. The 2 p.m. doubleheader is at Delta Park.

Wednesday, March 20

MAIN EVENT: The PIL track and field season begins to take shape. Madison has a dual meet at Wilson, while Roosevelt and Jefferson athletes run at Cleveland, and Franklin plays host to Benson and Putnam. All three meets start at 4 p.m.

Baseball: Pacific plays host to Concordia in a 6 p.m. nonleague game.
