NBA draft — The Trail Blazers look to find a big man and improve their depth. Portland, as of Wednesday morning, had the 10th pick, along with picks Nos. 39 (from Minnesota), 40 and 45 (from Boston) in the second round.

The show starts at 4 p.m. PT (ESPN). Cleveland, Orlando, Washington and Charlotte, in that order, have the first four picks. The first Western Conference team in the order is No. 5 Phoenix.

Golf — The Oregon Junior Amateur is down to the semifinals today at Heron Lakes.

In the girls division, Beaverton's Gigi Stoll will face Bend's Madison Odiorne, while Salem's Deanna Salvaroti will take on West Linn's Sarah Archuleta.

Stoll advanced with a 3-and-2 win Wednesday over Kaitlin Collom of Klamath Falls, while Odiorne downed Phoebe Nguyen of Portland 6 and 5, Salvatori beat Ellen Secor of Portland 4 and 3, and Archuleta edged Hayley Mortensen of Tualatin 2 and 1.

Today's boys semis will have Kevin Geniza of Corvallis against Harry Kim of Portland, and Brian Humphreys of Washougal, Wash., versus Spencer Tibbits of Vancouver, Wash.

On Wednesday, Geniza beat Brock Anderson of Lake Oswego 5 and 4, Kim downed Daniel Terrell of Portland 3 and 2, Humphreys defeated Reese Fisher of Medford 7 and 6, and Tibbits beat Jeremy Wu of Medford 2 and 1.

Basketball — The Portland Chinooks play on their home floor, Eastmoreland Courts, against the Japan Nippon Tornadoes, 7 p.m.

Hops — Hillsboro’s new Northwest League baseball team wraps up a three-game series at the Boise Hawks, 7 p.m.

Friday, June 28

Hops — Hillsboro’s Single-A club, formerly known as the Yakima Bears, unveils its new mascot at its second homestand at Hillsboro Ballpark, facing the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 7 p.m.

Timbers U-23 — Portland’s developmental team (6-1-2, 20 points) is at Doc Harris Stadium in Camas to play the Washington Crossfire (2-5-1, 7 points), 7 p.m.

Golf -- The Oregon Junior Amateur finals take place at Heron Lakes. The boys division starts at 10:50 a.m., and the girls division final tees off at 11 a.m. The tournament also has play in the junior, intermediate and pee week categories.

Saturday, June 29

Hops — Hillsboro plays host to Salem-Keizer, 7 p.m.

Footbag — The U.S. Open Footbag Net Championships are today and Sunday at Willamette Park. The sport, sometimes called “hacky sack,” involves kicking a bag over a net, as in volleyball or tennis, in singles or doubles competition. Tentative start times are 10 a.m. today and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Sunday, June 30

Hops — A three-game series at Hillsboro Ballpark concludes with Hillsboro vs, Salem-Keizer, 1:30 p.m.

Thorns — Portland’s women’s soccer team plays at FC Kansas City, 1:10 p.m. PT at Shawnee Mission District Stadium in Overland Park, Kan. The teams drew there 1-1 on April 3, and Portland edged KC 4-3 at Jeld-Wen Field on June 6.

Timbers U-23 — The PDL team from Portland visits the Victoria Highlanders (7-1-1, 22) for a noon game at Hare Field.

Monday, July 1

Hops — Hillsboro kicks off a three-game series at the Eugene Emeralds, 7 p.m., PK Park.

Chinooks — Portland’s International Basketball League team ends the regular season at 7 p.m. against the Salem Sabres at Eastmoreland Courts.

Tuesday, July 2

Hops — Hillsboro at Eugene, 7 p.m., PK Park.

Golf — The Oregon Junior Stroke Play tournament is today through July 4 at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn.

Timbers — Portland plays an exhibition with Mexico’s Monarcas Morelia, 8 p.m., Jeld-Wen Field.

Basketball — The IBL playoffs begin with a 7 p.m. game at Eastmoreland Courts between the fourth- and fifth-place teams in the final standings.

Hops — Hillsboro at Eugene, 7 p.m., PK Park.
