Hops — Hillsboro’s new pro baseball team plays host to the Vancouver Canadians in Class A Northwest League baseball at Hillsboro Ballpark, 7 p.m.

A fireworks show will take place after the game.

Rodeo — The 78th annual St. Paul Rodeo continues through Saturday.

Running — Sauvie Island is the site of the Foot Traffic Flat Half & Full Marathon and Firecracker 5K and 10K. The marathon starts at 6:30 a.m., the 5K and 10K begin at 6:40 a.m., and the half marathon goes off at 6:50 a.m. Go to foottraffic.us/flat/ for information.

Basketball — The International Basketball League playoffs are at Eastmoreland Courts. Two games are today: the regular-season second-place and third-place teams (Portland Chinooks and Vancouver Volcanoes) meet at 2:30 p.m., while the first-place and fourth-place teams (Bellingham Slam and either Salem Sabres or Japan Nippon Tornadoes) vie at 5 p.m.

Golf — It’s the final day of the Oregon Junior Stroke Play at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn.

Friday, July 5

Hops — The Vancouver Canadians play at the Hillsboro Hops, 7 p.m., Hillsboro Ballpark.

Basketball — The International Basketball League title is on the line in a 7 p.m. game at Eastmoreland Courts.

Saturday, July 6

Thorns — Portland’s women’s soccer team plays host to the Boston Breakers at Jeld-Wen Field, 7:30 p.m.

Sydney Leroux, a U.S. national team forward from UCLA, was leading Boston with seven goals in her nine games going into a Wednesday match at Seattle.

For Portland, Alex Morgan has five goals and Christine Sinclair four, each in 11 games.

Hops — Hillsboro takes on Vancouver in Class A Northwest League baseball at Hillsboro Ballpark, 7 p.m.

Golf — The 96th city championships begin a two-day run of medal play at Eastmoreland Golf Course.

• Bandon Dunes Golf Resort will play host to the PNGA (Pacific Northwest Golf Association) Men’s Amateur Championship today through July 11. Two days of 36-hole stroke qualifying will set up the field of 64 for match play.

Triathlon — The Hagg Lake Triathlon & Duathlon returns to Forest Grove. The Hagg Lake Triathlon is in its 33rd year and is designated as the Tri Northwest Olympic Distance Championship.

Track and field — The Hershey’s Track and Field Games are at Hayward Field in Eugene, starting at 10 a.m.

Sunday, July 7

Hops — The Vancouver-Hillsboro series continues at Hillsboro Ballpark. First pitch at 1:30 p.m.

Timbers — Portland takes its 15-game MLS unbeaten streak to Columbus for a 2 p.m. PT match with the Crew.

Golf — The final round of the 96th city championships at Eastmoreland Golf Course.

Monday, July 8

Hops — A five-game series wraps up at Hillsboro Ballpark, as the Hops take on the Vancouver Canadians at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, July 9

Soccer — The CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) Gold Cup tournament begins at Jeld-Wen Field.

The U.S. national team plays Belize at 8 p.m., with Costa Rica meeting Cuba at 5:30 p.m.

The tournament continues through mid-July, with the U.S. moving on to Sandy, Utah, to face Cuba in another group match on July 13 and then taking on Costa Rica July 16 at East Hartford, Conn.

Tennis — The Nike Senior Men’s Tennis Championships of Oregon run from today through July 14, kicking off a week of tournament play in various classifications in the Portland area. The senior men will compete at Mountain Park Racquet Club in Lake Oswego.

Wednesday, July 10

Hops — Hillsboro’s Class A baseball team hits the road to begin a series at the Tri-City Dust Devils. Start time is 7 p.m.
