The Hops snapped a six-game losing streak and averted a three-game sweep by Eugene.
WHAT IT MEANS
The season series is squared at 3-3, and Hillsboro has pulled to within two games of the Emeralds in the Class A Northwest League South Division. Eugene is third and Hillsboro fourth in the four-team division.
Designated hitter Tyler Linton hit his second home run in as many nights a two-run blast in the sixth inning. It was his third HR of the season. He also had a run-scoring double and three RBIs.
Yoimer Camacho picked up the win after tossing five scoreless innings of one-hit ball, with six strikeouts and two walks.
Three other Hops took the mound, and Johnny Shuttlesworth got his first save after pitching the ninth and giving up one hit and one walk but no runs, with two strikeouts.
The first two batters in the Hillsboro order, center fielder Taylor Ratliff and shortstop Ryan Gebnardt, each had two hits.
Hillsboro led 4-0 through 6 1/2 innings, then gave up single runs in the bottom of the seventh and eighth. The Hops added a run in their half of the ninth.
Eugene managed just five hits, while the Hops had nine.
