The Wilson Trojans' upstart run in the Class 5A girls soccer playoffs took them to Hillsboro Stadium on Saturday for the state championship match.

No. 1-ranked Summit won 4-2, stretching its unbeaten streak to 36 games and claiming its third title in the past four years and second in a row.

Wilson was the team that exceeded expectations, however. The unsung Trojans were ranked 22nd out of 38 teams in 5A going into the posteason. But they beat four higher-seed teams en route to the final -- Hood River Valley, Sherwood, West Albany and Wilsonville -- all on the road.
