HIGHLIGHTS

• Oliver Bjorkstrand scored for Portland midway through the first period, but Calgary stifled the high-powered Hawks attack the rest of the way.

The Hitmen took a 2-1 lead with goals at 17:41 and 19:51 of the second period and extended their advantage to 3-1 at 1:37 of the third period.

The final goal found an empty net at 18:32.

WHAT IT MEANS

• Portland finished with one win (and one shootout loss to sturdy Edmonton) for three points on a tough weekend of three road games in as many days.

• Bjorkstrand's goal was his 25th of the season.
