July 15, 1955: Richard Washington (age 59) ... a 6-11 star at state champion Benson High and at UCLA who went on to play six seasons in the NBA, competing for four teams and averaging 9.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He was a first-round draft pick of Kansas City in 1976 and the third pick overall, behind No. 1 John Lucas and No. 2 Scott May and before Adrian Dantley, Quinn Buckner and Robert Parish.
