Oak Hill Academy defeated DeMatha Catholic 82-66 Wednesday night to win the Les Schwab Invitational at Liberty High.

DeMatha guard Markelle Fultz, a 6-4 senior who has signed with the Washington Huskies, had 20 points and earned tournament MVP honors.

Oak Hill (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) is ranked fifth in the nation; DeMatha (Baltimore, Md.) came into the game ranked sixth.

In the third-place game, West Linn lost to Garfield (Seattle) 76-60.

Central Catholic earned fifth place with a 74-72 victory over Clackamas.

Westview beat Jesuit 68-42 for the consolation title.

In other LSI games on the fourth and final day of the tourney, Foss (Tacoma, Wash.) downed Lake Oswego 71-66 for seventh place, Jefferson topped David Douglas 61-57, Liberty beat Southridge 51-36 and Beaverton defeated Parkrose 72-61.


At the Barlow (High) Trail Classic, Madison turned back Hood River Valley 55-45, while Barlow beat Wilson 53-45.

Franklin lost 67-62 to Dawson (Calif.) in San Diego, Calif., site of the Max Preps Holiday Classic.

South Albany won at home over Roosevelt 53-47 in a nonleague game.

La Salle Prep fell 54-34 to Lebanon in the Oregon Holiday Hoopfest in Bend.

Host Lynden (Wash.) Christian beat De La Salle North Catholic 81-61 in the Cloud 9 Sports Christmas Classic.

In Salem’s Crusader New Year’s Invitational, Portland Christian defeated Culver 48-39, and Catlin Gabel downed St. Mary’s (Medford) 51-47.

At the Riverdale Tournament in Portland, Damascus Christian defeated the host Mavericks 73-56, while Oregon Episcopal School beat Columbia Christian 40-27.


    At the Nike Interstate Shootout hosted by Lake Oswego, the La Salle Prep Falcons lost the third-place game in the Swoosh Bracket to South Salem 61-46, and Jesuit took the fourth-place game 55-33 over McNary. In consolation play, Grant beat St. Mary’s Academy 61-50, and Tigard downed Central Catholic 45-29.

    David Douglas captured a nonleague win over visiting Lakeridge 46-38.

    Jefferson fell to The Dalles 71-40 in the Century/Hillsboro Tournament.

    At the Evergreen (Wash.) Tournament, Wilsonville defeated Madison 62-48.

    In the Riverdale Tournament, Riverdale fell to Corbett 48-39, and Faith Bible stopped Columbia Christian 30-17.

    At Salem, Kennedy beat Portland Christian 36-34, and East Linn Christian Academy topped Catlin Gabel 53-40 in the Crusader New Year’s Invitational.

    De La Salle North Catholic lost 54-24 to host Evergreen (Wash.) in the Hoops on the Holiday 2 tournament.
