BOYS BASKETBALL

PORTLAND INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE

With a narrow win on Friday night, Grant took over sole possession of first place in a tightly bunched PIL.

The Generals (6-2) edged visiting Wilson (5-3) 67-65.

Franklin (6-3) won 55-45 at Lincoln (4-4).

Jefferson (5-2) was idle.

Cleveland (5-3) beat Roosevelt (3-5) 76-64 at Jefferson. The Warriors have won five in a row.

Also, Madison (2-6) downed Benson (0-8) 62-52 at Madison.

METRO LEAGUE

The top four through Friday are Westview (7-0), Beaverton (6-1), Sunset (5-2) and Jesuit (4-3).

Beaverton got the better of host Jesuit on Friday, 51-44.

Westview got by host Sunset 72-67.

MT. HOOD CONFERENCE

The leaders kept winning Friday, leaving Clackamas at 7-0 and Central Catholic 6-1.

Central Catholic turned away visiting Oregon City 65-52, while Clackamas won 67-53 at David Douglas (3-4).

5A NORTHWEST OREGON CONFERENCE

Parkrose is third at 5-3 after its 68-64 home triumph over Hillsboro (2-6).

La Salle Prep (5-4) lost at Milwaukie 53-40. The Mustangs are also 5-4.

3A LEWIS & CLARK LEAGUE

De La Salle Catholic has first place at 10-2, with Portland Adventist Academy 10-3 and Catlin Gabel 9-4.

Of those three teams, only Catlin was in action on Friday, and the Eagles handled visiting Portland Christian 79-41.

Riverdale fell to 6-5 with a 73-71 loss at home to Clatskanie, while Oregon Episcopal School improved to 5-7 by toppling visiting Warrenton 69-33.

1A VALLEY 10 LEAGUE

Columbia Christian picked up a 58-45 road victory against North Clackamas Christian.

The Knights are 6-2 in league, second behind Damascus Christian (6-0).

    PORTLAND INTERSCHOLASTIC LEAGUE

    Grant continued its PIL roll, winning 65-26 at Wilson. The Generals lead the league with an 8-0 record.

    Lincoln (7-1) defeated host Franklin 61-26.

    Benson (6-2) won at home 67-47 versus Madison, and Cleveland (6-2) nipped visiting Roosevelt 53-51.

    After Grant, Lincoln, Benson and Cleveland in the standings come Madison (3-5), Jefferson (2-5), Wilson (2-6), Roosevelt (2-6) and Franklin (0-9).

    METRO LEAGUE

    The state’s No. 1-ranked 6A team, Jesuit, won 72-41 at Beaverton. The Crusaders are 7-0 in league.

    Southridge (6-1) won 68-40 at home against Aloha.

    MT. HOOD CONFERENCE

    League-leading Oregon City (7-0) decisioned host Central Catholic (5-2), 61-45.

    Clackamas (6-1) won 85-36 at David Douglas (1-6).

    THREE RIVERS LEAGUE

    Tigard (10-0) picked up a homecourt win against St. Mary’s Academy (3-7), 46-19.

    5A NORTHWEST OREGON CONFERENCE

    Defending state champion La Salle Prep is 9-0 in league after crushing Milwaukie 75-24 at La Salle.

    Parkrose (0-8) lost 66-10 at Hillsboro.

    3A LEWIS & CLARK LEAGUE

    Portland Christian (12-0) stayed atop the league with a 57-50 win at Catlin Gabel (7-6).

    Portland Adventist Academy (12-1) was idle.

    Oregon Episcopal School (7-5) scored a 52-28 triumph at home against Warrenton.

    Riverdale (4-7) defeated visiting Clatskanie 55-40.

    1A VALLEY 10 LEAGUE

    Columbia Christian fell 32-22 at North Clackamas Christian. Columbia Christian is 3-4 in league; NCC is first at 5-1.
