Brooks leads UO past Utah; Ducks, Beavers post women's victories




Oregon 76, Utah 66, at Matthew Knight Arena

The No. 16 Ducks reached the 20-win mark with their sixth straight victory.

Sophomore forward Dillon Brooks scored 30 points and had nine assists as UO also won for the ninth time in the past 10 games, before 6,807 in Eugene.

Senior forward Chris Boucher, who had tweaked an ankle Thursday against Colorado, started and scored 15 points for the Ducks.

Oregon is 20-4, 9-2 in the Pac-12.

Utah slipped to 17-7, 6-5.


    Oregon State 54 Washington State 45, at Pullman, Wash.

    The Beavers, ranked eighth and ninth, won its 10th in a row, four shy of the school record.

    Oregon State held the Cougars to 31.6 percent shooting from the field and got 17 points and seven rebounds from center Ruth Hamblin. Guard Sydney Wiese had 16 points and five assists.

    OSU climbed to 11-1 in the Pac-12 and 20-3 overall.

    WSU fell to 3-9, 12-11.

    Oregon 75, Washington 63, at Seattle

    The Ducks upset the 24th-ranked Huskies, overcoming a 17-point third-quarter deficit.

    Oregon caught Washington at 51-51 with 6:47 remaining and then outscored UW 12-2 to lead by 10 at the 3:38 mark. UO was 8 of 8 on free throws in the final 40 seconds.

    The Ducks won even though their star forward, Jillian Alleyne, spent most of the second half on the bench with foul trouble. Oregon was 10 of 15 on 3-pointers and shot 58.3 percent from the field in the second half.

    Maite Cazorla and Kat Cooper each scored 16 points for Oregon, and Lexi Petersen had 14. Alleyne wound up with nine points and seven rebounds.

    Oregon improved to 6-6 in the Pac-12 and 17-6 overall. Washington dropped to 7-5, 16-7.
