Warner Pacific holds on, faces Northwest Christian on Saturday




Warner Pacific 87, Corban 86, at Bart Valentine Court

The Knights (18-8, 13-4, Cascade Collegiate Conference) survived the upset bid of Corban (14-11, 8-9) to remain in the thick of the CCC race heading into Saturday night's home showdown with Northwest Christian.

The Knights shot 49 percent, but the Warriors hit at 64 percent, including 76 percent in the first half, to stay close. The Knights shot more free throws (14 of 20) than the Warriors (3 of 4) and had only eight turnovers to Corban's 17.

De'Jon Bowman had 25 points and 13 rebounds for WPC. Taylor Young added 22 points.

Joel Johnson led Corban with 25 points and nine rebounds. Caleb Herzberg added 21 and AJ Monterossi 17 points and 14 assists.

Northwest Christian 100, Multnomah 79, at Jim Skagen Court

NCU (23-4, 16-1 CCC) survived Multnomah shooting 46 3-pointers (making 17). Javonte Bird had 18 points and Donta Harris 17 for NCU. Austin Kuemper had nine points and 14 rebounds.

Jason Wyncoop had 21 points, hitting six 3-pointers, for Multnomah (4-21, 1-6) and Ben Grandle had 17 points with five 3-pointers. Blake Updike had 14 points, Thomas Simien.


Oregon State 77, Colorado 50, at Gill Coliseum

The Beavers won their 11th consecutive game to move to 21-3 overall and 12-1 in Pac-12 play. Jamie Weisner had 16 points and Sydney Wiese 15 points and eight assists to lead a balanced attack.

The Buffaloes fell to 6-18 and 1-12.

Oregon 69, Utah 58, at Matthew Knight Arena

The Ducks (18-6, 7-6) won their fourth game in a row as Jillian Alleyne had 27 points and 13 rebounds, notching her 89th career double-double, passing Bev Smith's UO career record. Lexi Bando had 13 points.

Utah fell to 14-10 and 6-7.
