Status report

The Broncos got a huge win Thursday night on the road, beating one of the two teams ahead of them in the league at Liberty.

Parkrose improved to 13-9 for the season and is No. 8 in the Oregon School Activities Association Class 5A rankings.

La Salle’s home win, coupled with Putnam’s 75-60 loss at Sandy, put the Falcons into sole possession of fifth place.

Wilsonville won 66-46 at Milwaukie to all but secure first place with two games to go. The Wildcats have home games next week against Hillsboro (Tuesday) and Parkrose (Friday, Feb. 26), though.

Parkrose’s other remaining regular-season game is Tuesday at home against Sandy.

The Bronocs and Liberty have split their two-game series. Status report

Rainier claimed the third automatic seed from the L&C into the OSAA 3A playoffs. Catlin Gabel still could get the 16th and final berth at-large because of its No. 13 OSAA state ranking.

Status report

In the league playoff game matching the Nos. 2 and 3 regular-season finshers, City Christian prevailed to earn a spot in the league final. That game will be against Vernonia at 7 p.m. Saturday at Dayton High, with the first and second seeds to the OSAA 2A playoffs on the line.

Knappa eliminated Nestucca in the 4-5 game and will meet Life Christian at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Dayton for the third seed to state.

Status report

Columbia Christian and Portland Waldorf will play at 7 p.m. Saturday at Multnomah University for the top seed to the 1A playoffs and a first-round bye in the 24-team field. The loser will have a home game in the first round against the third seed from the Big Sky.
