Status report

Jefferson needs one win in its final two games to secure at least a co-championship in the PIL and the league’s No. 1 seed in the Oregon School Activities Association Class 6A playoffs.

A two-game sweep next week to conclude the regular season would assure the Democrats of an outright league title — even if Franklin wins its finale.

Jefferson, which swept the Quakers, will play Tuesday and Wednesday, first against Lincoln, then versus Wilson. Both games tip off at 7:30 p.m.

Franklin’s only remaining game is 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Roosevelt.

Grant ends league play at home against Madison at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Cleveland has games at home with Madison at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and at Benson at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Roosevelt travels twice next week, with the Tuesday visit to Franklin and then a 7:30 p.m. Wednesday stop at Lincoln.

OSAA Class 6A rankings as of Saturday morning: Jefferson, 13th; Franklin, 16th; Grant, 18th; Cleveland, 28th; Roosevelt, 31st; Lincoln, 26th; Wilson, 34th; Madison, 48th; Benson, 49th.
