Southern Oregon has named Charlie Hall as it new football coach.
Hall has been head coach at Ashland High since 2005.
He will succeed Craig Howard, who died on Jan. 20.
Howard took the Raiders to NAIA prominence and a national championship in 2014.
The 56-year-old Hall won four conference titles at Ashland, taking his teams to the state quarterfinals six times, the semifinals twice and the title game once in going 94-44. He was conference coach of the year four times.
Before that, he coached at six colleges as an assistant, including a run with Northern Arizona as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2001-05.
He played for SOU and was a student assistant there, as well, and his wife, Jennifer, played volleyball for the Raiders from 1980-82.
