Concordia University is losing Brian Jamros as Vice President and Director of Athletics.
Jamros has been named AD at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, effective July 24.
He will replace Don Olson, who is retiring after nine years with the NCAA Division III school, which has 22 varsity sports.
Jamros, who helped guide Concordia from the NAIA to NCAA D-II status, previously spent nine years at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving as director of marketing and promotions and then as assoiate athletic director for external relations.
Jamros also attended Concordia (St. Paul), starring in basketball and leaving the program as its second-leading all-time scorer. He was inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame last year.
Jamros, 35, is a native of Moose Lake, Minnesota.
In a statement released by St. Scholastica, Jamros said: "It is truly an honor to be selected to serve as the next Director of Athletics at The College of St. Scholastica, My family and I are beyond excited to come home and I look forward to working with the coaches, staff and student-athletes to build upon the solid foundation already in place. The future of Saints athletics is bright and I look forward to being part of the team."
