PREPS: Jesuit's Parker picked for All-Star series
Cameron Parker of Jesuit is one of nine players chosen to play for the Metro team against a State team in the 45th annual Summer Basketball All-Star series.
The two-day event, sponsored by the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association, will have three games on Friday at Northwest Christian in Eugene and three games on Saturday at Wilsonville High.
The games will have Metro vs. State for Class 6A and 5A players, along with East, West, North and South teams consisting of 4A, 3A and 2A players.
On Friday, the Metro-State game tips off at 5 p.m., followed by West-South at 6:30 p.m., and North-East at 8:15 p.m.
For the North, Columbia Christian's Levi Dalzell, a 6-5 wing/post, is one of eight players selected to play.
Saturday's first game will be the regional (4A/3A/2A) consolation match, with the regional final at 4:30 p.m. The series will end with Metro vs. State, starting at 6:15 p.m.
Tickets to each day are $5 for adults, $4 for students, $3 for seniors and $2 for middle-school students.
Clackamas' Ryan King and Wilsonville's Chris Roche will coach the Metro.
South coaches are Travis Meyers of West Salem and Michael Stair of Crescent Valley.
