Portland Timbers rookie defender Marco Farfan has been named to the roster for the MLS Homegrown Game.
Farina, 18, is one of 18 players age 22 and younger selected to the MLS Homegrown Team that will face the Chivas de Guadalajara under-20 Team. The match will be played at 5 p.m. August 1 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.
The game against the reigning Liga MX under-20 champions is part of the MLS All-Star Game week at the home of the Chicago Fire.
A recent graduate of Centennial High, Farfan has made seven appearances (six starts) in 2017 across all competitions for the Timbers. He has played five times this summer for Timbers 2, the club's United Soccer League affiliate. He also has made two starts in 2017 for the United States under-19 team in 2017.
