Former T2 forward Kharlton Belmar scored the only goal for the visiting Swope Park Rangers in a 1-0 win over Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday at Providence Park.
Timbers 2 fell to 1-15-2 in United Soccer League play. Swope Park, the affiliate of Sporting Kansas City, is 11-4-2. It was the sixth consecutive win for the Rangers, who are unbeaten in nine consecutive games and sit third in the USL's Western Conference.
Belmar scored in the 60th minute, heading home a cross from Nansel Selbol. It was the team-leading sixth goal of the season for Belmar, and the second game-winner against Portland.
Belmar played 543 matches with T2 in 2015-16, scoring 15 goals including a team-leading 12 in 2015.
T2 outshot the Rangers 11-9 and create several chances in the second half.
In the 90th minute, midfielder Villyan Bijev's shot from the edge of the penalty area forced Swope Park goalkeeper Adrian Zendejas to deflect the ball away. It was Portland's only shot on goal.
Earlier in the second half, Portland forward Russell Cicerone had a promising shot from inside the penalty area blocked by a defender.
An announced crowd of 1,917 attended the match.
Next for T2 is a Saturday road match against Reno 1868 FC.
