• The Cavaliers kicked off their season with a loss in Idaho.

It was a 1-0 game until the home team scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth.

Concordia had four hits to eight for Lewis-Clark State.

Kaleb Jones, the first of four Cavs pitchers, took the loss despite giving up only two runs on five hits in seven innings.

COLLEGE TRACK AND FIELD

University of Portland sophomore Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse ran the fourth-fastest indoor 5,000 in school history, placing 16th in the Husky Classic at Seattle in 13 minutes, 57.97 seconds.

COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY

The Portland Pilots men's team, which finished second at the NCAA championships, has been named the Division I Scholar Team of the Year.

UP had the highest finish of any team with a GPA of at least 3.0.

COLLEGE MEN'S TENNIS

PORTLAND 6, Idaho 1

The Pilots have won 22 home matches in a row, and senior Michail Pervolarakis, ranked No. 21 in the nation, is 5-0 this spring at the top of the line after his 6-2, 6-1 win at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center.

OREGON 5, Wisconsin 2

The Ducks improved to 5-2 this spring with their win at Eugene. Oregon's Cormac Clissold and Ty Gentry now have won eight consecutive singles matches. Gentry and doubles partner Simon Stevens won for the 10th time in a row, raising their record to 14-1.

Second-ranked Oregon improved to 2-0 with the victory over he No. 5 Sharks at Matthew Knight Arena.
