A big day for former Oregon distance runner Andrew Wheating and ex-OSU basketball star Carol Menken-Schaudt

Andrew Wheating from the University of Oregon and Carol Menken-Schaudt from Oregon State are among 11 former athletes and one ex-coach being inducted Friday in a ceremony preceding the Pac-12 men's basketball tournament semifinals at Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wheating was a five-time NCAA champion and eight-time All-American middle-distance runner at Oregon from 2006-10.

Menken, 6-4, was an All-American in basketball who led the nation in field-goal shooting (75.0 percent) as a senior, helping OSU go 22-6 in 1980-81.

Others joining the hall include former decathlon greats Rafer Johnson of UCLA and Bill Toomey of Colorado, basketball standout Cheryl Miller from USC, swimmer Matt Biondi from California, beach volleyball star Kerri Walsh Jennings of Stanford, ex-Washington quarterback Sonny Sixkiller and gymnastics champion Missy Marlowe from Utah.
