Family offers $500 reward for dog swept away in Willamette
A reward of $500 is being offered for the safe return of a dog who was involved in a tragic drowning accident on Nov. 14 at the Meldrum Bar Park in Gladstone.
Rescue divers found the body of Thomas Ermini, 53, of Milwaukie at about 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 15, about 50 to 100 feet from the last point he was seen in the water after his vehicle was swept away by rising current.
He had been rock hunting with his girlfriend, Sandy Gracey, 46, while taking their two chocolate labs for a swim. After three West Linn fishermen rescued her and one of the dogs, Gracey was taken to Providence Milwaukie Hospital as a precaution.
Ruby is described as a very tall, 2-year-old chocolate lab, 85 pounds, with a small white patch on her chest and light golden eyes. She was wearing a brown leather collar with tags.
I certainly hope we can locate herthe family misses her so very much, Gracey said.
Ruby has been reportedly sighted several times since the accident in the Meldrum Bar/Gladstone area.
