Three-game set with Giants chance for Portland to find chemistry

COURTESY: PORTLAND WINTERHAWKS - Keegan Iverson is looking for more rhythm in his return from injury for the Portland Winterhawks. After a rare weekend without a game, the Portland Winterhawks this week will aim to solidify a spot in the Western Hockey League playoffs with three games against the team at the bottom of the Western Conference.

Portland faces the Vancouver Giants on Wednesday in British Columbia then on Friday and Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.

After four consecutive losses, the Hawks will look to get their winning mojo back.

Despite managing only one point in the standings from their last four games, the Winterhawks continue to have a solid hold on a playoff spot. Portland is nine points up on ninth-place Spokane. The Winterhawks have 10 games left, the Chiefs 11.

The next test for Portland is a Vancouver team focused on the future and well off the playoff pace. The Giants have the fewest points in the Western Conference (43) and are 25 points behind eighth-place Portland.
