Two wounded in Northeast gun battle
Two people were wounded in an incident outside a Northeast Portland bar early Sunday morning, apparently by bullets being fired from two passing cars.
Police say the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.
According to police, at about 2:17 a.m., North Precinct officers were called to the 715 Club on Northeast Broadway at 7th Avenue on a report of a woman having been shot. Once officers arrived, they located a 60-year-old woman who had been wounded. She was transported to an area hospital.
Officers learned that the club was full of patrons, and that several people were outside the bar on the sidewalk. Reports indicate that two cars were westbound on Broadway, with their occupants engaged in an exchange of gunfire.
As the officers were conducting the investigation, they were informed that an adult man walked into an area hospital also shot.
The Gang Enforcement Team is conducting an investigation. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Portland Police Bureau.
