Police arrest man in February gang shooting
Portland police have arrested a 22-year-old man in a February shooting that sent two people to the hospital with serious gunshot wounds.
Shawn Lewis Richey was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and charged with attempted aggravated murder and first-degree assault. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
Richey is accused of shooting DeAndre Harris, 24, and Thomas Elijah, 28. They are recovering from their injuries.
The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of Feb. 12, in the parking lot of the New Copper Penny Restaurant and Nightclub in the 9200 block of Southeast Foster Road. It was investigated by the Gang Enforcement Team, which, police say, received little cooperation from witnesses.
