Grand jury clears officers in New Columbia shooting
A Multnomah County grand jury declined Friday to charge three members of Washington County's Tactical Negotiation Team for shooting New Columbia resident Adalberto Flores-Haro March 13 while helping Portland police serve a warrant in the area.
Flores-Haro was not a target of the warrant. He was shot after unexpectedly emerging from his home with a gun.
The three team members were: Hillsboro Officer Steven Slade, an 11-year department member; Washington County sheriff's deputies John Egg, a 14-year office member, and Brian McLeod, a 12-year office member.
The Portland Police Bureau is continuing an investigation into whether Flores-Haro should be charged with any crimes.
