ELIZABETH HOPPESThe mother of three who was missing after dropping off her 12-year-old son at a North Portland school last week was found dead Monday morning in a Clackamas Town Center parking garage.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office reported Monday that 47-year-old Elizabeth Hoppes' death "appeared to be natural." Toxicology tests are pending by the county medical examiner's office.

Hoppes left her home on North Rosa Parks Way at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, to drop off one of her three children at the Holy Redeemer Catholic School. Hoppes was overdue for her at-home dialysis and daily medications — health issues which made "finding her (very) important," said a Portland Police spokesman.

The family filed a missing person's report with the Portland Police Bureau, which asked anyone who might have seen their mother or her Chevy to come forward.

Her 26-year-old daughter, Kathryn Faist told KOIN Local 6 on Saturday that family members and friends searched their home, neighborhood, nearby Peninsula Park and parking lots in Portland's Delta Park and Jantzen Beach areas for any sign of Hoppes.

Her daughter said Hoppes was someone who made quick friends and is a "mother to all."

"She has three 'blood children' and a slew of kids she's taken under her wing over the years," Faist said.

KOIN Local 6 contributed to this report.
