Victim released from hospital
A suspect has been arrested in a Monday hit and run accident that injured a French foreign exchange student.
Willie Xenophen Hurst III was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Assault in the Second Degree, Felony Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
The victim, Charlotte Claudel, has been released from the hospital.
According to police, at 7:18 p.m. on Oct. 15, officers responded to the report of a hit and run to a pedestrian at Northeast 60th Avenue and Glisan Street.
When they arrived, the located an adult female suffering from traumatic but non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle to police and officers have located it parked in the neighborhood. They could not immediately locate the driver, however.
