Police arrested a robber who apparently needed the money for drugs Thursday evening.
David Allen Mackay, 51, was charged with Robbery in the First Degree and booked him into the Multnomah County Jail.
According to police, at 9:48 p.m. on Nov. 22, East Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery in the area of Southeast 162nd Avenue and Stark Street.
When they officrs arrived, they spoke with the victim , who said he was approached by a man armed with a pocket knife who demanded money from the victim. The suspect, later identified as Mackay, walked away after the victim refused to give him any money.
Mackay then got into a woman's vehicle and asked her to help find crack cocaine for him. That was when the officers located and arrested him.
