Officer paralyzed from training injuries
Fund established for family of Paul Meyer
According to the Portland Police Bureau, the officer injured during an ATV training exercise is paralyzed from the wait down.
Doctors do not expect Paul Meyer to regain the use of his legs, the bureau said in a Thursday press release.
Meyer continues to recover at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center from injuries he suffered when a large tree branch fell on him on Monday, Nov. 19.
Meyer and other bureau personnel were training on Hayden Island at the time of the accident.
The bureau says Meyer and his family are very grateful for all the care and support extended to them from the law enforcement community and the citizens of Portland.
