by: TUALATIN VALLEY FIRE AND RESCUE - Truck dangled over 217 at Denny after Saturday afternoon crash.A bizarre accident shut Highway 217 and Denny Road down Saturday afternoon as motorists were heading out to shop following the Civil War game.

At around 3:30 p.m., Matthew Alan Hamilton, 38, crashed his truck over the guardrail at the Denny overpass. It hung over the southbound lane of 217 until Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded, secured the truck, used a fire engine with a bucket to pull Hamilton out, and then pulled the truck back onto the overpass.

Hamilton, a Beaverton resident, was taken to an area hopsital with undisclosed injuries. Highway 217 and Denny were closed during the rescue and truck recovery.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
