A female Portland State University student reported being sexually assaulted in downtown Portland early Monday.
The woman has been transported to an area hospital for treatement. Her name and condition has not been released.
According to police, at 3:14 a.m. on Nov. 26, officers responded to Southwest 10th Avenue and Market Street on the report of a sexual assault. When they arrived, the officers contacted the victim, a female PSU student in her 20s, and learned that she was walking to her dorm at PSU from the area of Southwest 10th Avenue and Yamhill Street.
The woman remembered a man following her and that she was hit over the head, then woke up in an alley behind her dorm at Southwest 10th and Market.
Medical personnel responded and transported her to a Portland hospital.
The very limited suspect description is a white male, possibly wearing a dark jacket and jeans. The victim did not know the suspect.
Multiple police officers, including a Police K-9 Unit, have searched the neighborhood but have not located the suspect.
