TriMet adds service for soccer game, Springsteen concert
Both events start early Wednesday evening
TriMet is adding extra bus and MAX service to get people to and from two big events on Wednesday the U.S. Women vs. the Republic of Ireland Women soccer game at JELD-WEN Field and the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Rose Garden.
Both events start in the early evening. TriMet will begin running additional buses and MAX trains earlier to help people get to the events. The additional service will also be provided when the events end.
TriMet urges those who do not ride the buses or trains regularly to remember there is no longer free service anywhere in its service area, including the downtown core.
The U.S. Women are scheduled to take on the Republic of Ireland Women at 7 p.m. at JELD-WEN Field. Express buses will run between downtown Portland and JELD-WEN Field before and after the game. In addition to express and regular service buses, MAX Blue and Red line trains deliver riders to the stadium. Extra trains will run after the match to help people leave the area. The narrow Kings Hill/SW Salmon St. MAX platform will be closed one hour before game time and remain closed until about an hour and a half after the game for safety reasons.
The Bruce Springsteen concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. All MAX lines and several bus lines serve the Rose Garden area. Extra trains will be put in service as needed to help concertgoers leaving the event.
TriMet Day Passes are $5 for adults, $3.30 for youths and $2 for honored citizens.
