Coastal Farm and Ranch will match dollars donated to food bank

People who want to donate to the Oregon Food Bank have a chance to double the impact of their contribution from now until Friday.

That’s because Coastal Farm & Ranch stores will match donations to the food bank that are made through Friday. The goal is to raise enough to feed 2,400 people.

“Our stores in Gresham, Oregon City and Cornelius are fortunate to be part of such a terrific communities,” says Coastal Farm & Ranch’s owner Buzz Wheeler. “This is our opportunity to give back and support the less fortunate families and hard working people in need of a good meal.”

Coastal is matching every dollar donated up to $3,000, meaning Oregon Food Bank will receive $6,000 to kick off the important holiday season.

A special web page has been created to make sure all donations are matched:

The public can also make cash donations at any of Coastal’s stores in the Portland area.

“We appreciate the support of Coastal Farm and Ranch,” says Oregon Food Bank’s Sarah Schirmer. “This is the time of year we have the most need and this donation will make a big difference.”

Oregon Food Bank is able to purchase food at a substantial discount. This $6,000 will purchase approximately 12,000 pounds of food to feed hungry people in the Portland metro area.

The program ends on Friday evening and Coastal will send its matching donation check to Oregon Food Bank on Monday.
