Gunshot leads to DUII arrest
Firearm and drugs also found in car
Police responding to a gunshot report arrested a Southeast Portland man on DUII, firearm and drug charges.
Tyler Mathew Kahnert, 29, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of DUII, Reckless Driving, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Delivery of Marijuana.
According to police, at 9:36 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, North Precinct officers responded to the vicinity of Northeast 82nd Avenue and Sandy Boulevard on the report of a gunshot heard in the area.
An officer driving in the area saw a 2000 Cadillac Sedan DeVille traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on 82nd Avenue. The officer stopped the vehicle, driven by Kahnert.
The officer located an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and determined that Kahnert had also been driving with a suspended license and had no valid insurance.
A search of the vehicle by the officer turned up a handgun under the driver's seat, a spent shell casing, a baggie of marijuana and drug distribution paraphernalia.
The vehicle was towed and Kahnert was transported to jail.
