Three arrested after rush hour chase
Pursuit went through Portland International Airport
Police arrested three people after a Thursday afternoon disturbance and traffic pursuit that ended on Northeast Killingsworth Street.
Kevin Reinhard, 20, Shawn Keele, 26, and Chelsea Scott, 22, were all arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine. Keele and Reinhard were also charged with additional felony crimes including firearms violations.
Officers recovered an Airsoft replica firearm, multiple knives, and a small amount of methamphetamine and related paraphenelia inside the vehicle.
Port of Portland Police officers assisted Portland Police Bureau officers in locating a handgun that was tossed from the vehicle when the pursuit went past the entrance to the airport main terminal. The gun was recovered on Airport Way, between the ramp to the Departure gates and the Arrival gates.
According to police, the events began at 5:38 p.m. on Dec. 6 when officers responded to the report of a disturbance involving two men with guns outside the Laurel Place Apartments at Southeast 125th Place and Powell Boulevard.
As officers arrived in the area, a vehicle with the suspects left the westbound on Powell Boulevard. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at Southeast 125th Avenue and Holgate Boulevard but he vehicle sped away with officers in pursuit.
The pursuit continued onto I-205 northbound and eventually ended after officers used Spike Strips to deflate the tires and used a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) to spin the car out on Northeast Killingsworth Street after it exited I-205.
There were no traffic crashes or injuries as a result of this pursuit.
