The mall’s owners, General Growth Properties of Chicago, said the shopping center would reopen at 9 a.m.

Company officials said Wednesday that they would “keep the victims, their families and the entire community in your thoughts and prayers, as they are in ours.”

The company also assured shoppers that “everyone can feel that same sense of well-being and security they felt before this tragic event.”

A candlelight vigil is planned for 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at the mall entrance near Starbucks.

Lost-and-found update

Shoppers can claim lost/left behind items Friday and Saturday during mall hours next to the Management Office on the Lower Level, down the hallway between AT&T and The Buckle. Beginning Sunday, December 16, items can be picked up from the Security Office located Upper Level, Food Court.
