The Forest Grove Police Department has named the five Forest Grove officers who were placed on administrative leave following the Jan. 20 officer involved shooting.
The officers were placed on leave after firing their weapon during a standoff with off-duty Hillsboro Police Officer Timothy Cannon while responding to a domestic disturbance call. He was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated murder.
Those placed on leave are: Officer Gary Anderson, an officer for 26 years, Officer Matt Jacobsen, an officer for four years, Officer Charles McCutchen, an officer for 12 years, Officer Jenifer Smith, an officer for four years and Officer Ryan Wolf, an officer for four years.
The leaves are standard protocol for officers involved in a shooting.
A Hillsboro police officer and four Washington County Sheriff's deputies have also been placed on leave. They have not been identfied.
In a press release, the department said it is managing staffing by altering schedules and by pulling officers from other assignments. The department will also accept assistance if it becomes necessary from other departments, including the Washington County Sheriff's Office, for coverage.
The department said its ability to continue responding to calls for assistance has not been compromised.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing and no other information was released.
