Stabbing suspect arrested


A suspect has been arrested in a double stabbing in a North Portland home Saturday evening.

Robert Wack, 63, was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree.

The victims, Robert Settle, 70, and Harry Woods, 61, both received non-life-threatening stab wounds. All three live together.

According to police, at 6:43 p.m. on Feb. 2, North Precinct officers responded to the report of a 9-1-1 hangup at a residence in the 8700 block of North Woolsey Avenue.

As officers were enroute, additional information was broadcast that there was a disturbance and two people had been stabbed.

The officers arrived and contacted the victims, who told them that the suspect possibly ran back into the house.

Medical personnel transported both victims to a Portland hospital for treatment.

Officers located a person of interest a few blocks from the crime scene at North Dwight Avenue and Houghton Street. The person was taken into custody

Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division and assault detectives to the home to continue the investigation.
