Police investigate East Portland disturbance
Police from Portland, Gresham and Troutdale investigated an overnight disturbance at an East Portland apartment complex.
Although evidence of gunfire was uncovered, no victims were discovered or any suspects arrested.
According to Portland police, at 11:20 p.m. on March 2, East Precinct officers responded to an apartment complex located at 16047 E. Burnside St. on the report of a disturbance with multiple gunshots fired.
Officers from the Gresham and Troutdale police departments also responded.
Arriving officers set up a perimeter around the complex and attempted numerous contacts with occupants of three apartments believed to be involved in the disturbance. The Gresham Police Department used an armored vehicle to safely approach the apartments and used the loud speaker to gain the attention of the occupants.
All the apartments were eventually cleared and no gunshot victims were located. Officers located evidence of gunfire but did not get any cooperation from witnesses.
