Tigard man held after fleeing fatal collision
A 28-year-old Tigard man who fled a fatal head-on collision Sunday morning faces several charges after he was arrested hours later.
Washington County Sheriffs Office said Bryan Onderdonk was arrested about five hours after the crash on Southwest Farmington Road near Highway 219 that killed 50-year-old Marcos Castillo.
Onderdonk is in the Washington County Jail facing charges of felony hit and run, first-degree attempted burglary, second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree theft.
The T-bone crash happened at about 8:54 a.m. Castillo died in the collision. No one else was involved in the crash.
Deputies said Onderdonk ran from the two-car collision and disappeared into the heavily wooded area. Deputies and Hillsboro police officers found him at about 1:08 p.m. hiding in a house on Bald Peak Road.
Washington Countys Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. The highway was closed for six hours during the investigation.
