Cover Oregon adds health care providers
Cover Oregon said Tuesday that 22 health care providers would offer medical and dental plans online in Oregon this year as part of the Affordable Care Act.
Debuting in October, Cover Oregon is an online shopping center where individual Oregonians and small employers can shop and compare health coverage options as well as access financial help to obtain health insurance.
Approved plans met state and federal requirements, such as offering bronze, silver and gold plans along with cost-sharing options of silver plans and acceptable network coverage. Examples of the 22 companies providing plans include PacificSource Health Plans, Premier Access Insurance Co., Providence Health Plan and Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon.
One measure of a successful launch will be that individuals, families and small employers are able to select coverage that is right for them, says Liz Baxter, chairwoman of the Cover Oregon board.
