SE Powell reopens after police standoff
Police reopened a portion of Southeast Powell Boulevard Monday morning after arresting a wanted fugitive holed up in a hotel.
Terry Glenn, 57, set fire to his hotel room and threw knives and a hatchet at officers who moved into to arrest him. He was arrested for outstanding parole warrants for a 2003 Assault in Clark County, Washington and a 1977 Homicide in Clark County, Nevada.
Police received information around 2:45 a.m. that Glenn was in a room at the Motel 6 at 3104 S.E. Powell Boulevard. The Special Emergency Response team was called to the scene early Monday after Glenn refused to come out. Powell was closed between Southeast 33rd and 28th avenues for four hours.
